I tried!!! Tomorrow night we are doing rootbeer floats! I couldnt do it and i feel like the biggest failure because my husband did it !

I can relate to the Friday “it’s pour-me-a-drink o’clock”! It was my treat, or more like my reward. @Dazercat yes, I deserved it even! It was a habit for so long, I was on autopilot when it came to Friday, or the whole weekend.

But honestly - it gets better, quite quickly.
I’m still in early days, but already the reward of not drinking is soooo much more, well, rewarding.

One of the things I always felt so short on was time. I never felt like I had enough me time, to do the things I wanted, to pursue my interests, yes - to read, to cook, to do more yoga, putter in my patio garden, all of it. One of the things I’ve learned to do that works for me is to take my me time - every day. It doesn’t matter if I have work to take home, or there are chores to do, or anything else - I give myself the gift of time, now - even if it’s brief, and I’m never giving that up!

Make a list of your fave things to do, things you would truly enjoy and they would feel indulgent. Betcha you can’t do a lot of 'em with that wine. Betcha soon you’d rather have time than wine… :wink:

I appreciate you all! Had 3 glasses and im so tired. My husband just looks down on me but when i went to rehab and was sober for 7 years, he brought it back into my life.

Tomorrow will come and it will be a great day to start again. Sleep well and be kind to yourself.

This is really good advice. Funny how we tell ourselves enjoy hobbies, reading exercise is indulgent but drinking while making dinner isn’t. Food not to pun for thought.

Well I can say I understand! It seems like a ritual to celebrate Fri YAY! I’m on my second Friday since I put the drink down. Last Friday didn’t seem soo terrible but tonight is hitting a little different. I dont need it or want it, but its just getting used to something different is all! You got this, if anything have some apple juice :slightly_smiling_face:
