I totally get this. I always cry at the end of My Girl. Sometimes it doesn’t matter that it’s fiction.

It gets worse…at the end of Splash when they swim away I cry because of the song. Hmmm…maybe it’s a Tom Hanks thing. My Girl is SAD!

My suggestions to @HoofHearted above are more kid friendly, but for the adults among us here we are:

The Help
Hidden Figures
Monty Python Life of Brian
Gravity
Saving Private Ryan
Passengers
and…
anything with Octavia Spencer, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins, Robin Williams

I saw Top Gun in rehab when I was 26. Big Saturday outing. Put us in a minibus and brought us to the movie theater. Now I guess they would just stream it. No streaming in 1986. Loved the movie then and love it now. Meg Ryan’s character annoyed me then and annoys me now.:rofl::rofl:

Those are great suggestions from everyone @Salty @Fury @Mbwoman Top Gun and Big are definitely contenders.

He wants to see Saving Private Ryan and I’m not sure he’s ready. I recently watched it with my daughter (21) and was her first time seeing it, it shook her… to be honest, I’m not sure I’m ready to see it again! But definitely a must see, at least once.

Useless information,

Saving Private Ryan is actually based on 4 brothers of the Civil War era, who were from Port Carbon, PA that’s the area I grew up in

Depending on whether you enjoy animated films, Flight of Dragons and The Last Unicorn are both classic.

I’m actually working on a YouTube video for the top gun theme, Yano the instrumental bad ass that goes on through the movie. I can play it im just looking for a bomber jacket and a good backdrop for a green screen, and a way to do action shots

Now I need to figure out something for dinner. Anyone know a good recipe for some home made “I don’t know” or even some “I don’t care”?

The last unicorn seems very familiar, but not sure I’ve seen it. My son loves Studio Ghibli movies, this looks right up his alley!

Studio Ghibli has some really great films!

If your son can get past the dated art and sound, the stories for each are pretty good.

Actually I wasn’t sure what the theme was. Looked it up on YouTube. Remember now! Dude with ginormous hair playing guitar in a hangar. Good luck! Would love to see your film.

I have two new records that I had wanted for a long time - one of them since I began collecting (12 years). I shifted my living room furniture to have better positioning in relation to my speakers, big difference.
I have fresh, crisp, clean bed sheets, pillows, and comforter waiting for me. I’m going to sleep very well. I can hear Chief gnawing on a blanket in the other room and it makes me happy.
Life is good! Enjoy your Friday!
