This weekend, Iām what we call a āStrohwitwerā in Germanyāa āgrass widower,ā meaning that my partner is away on a trip or vacation without me.
Iām going to use the time to tidy things up at home and finally go hiking with my godfather again. Temperatures in Germany are starting to drop again, so the hike should be much more pleasant.
Less hot today, no rain.
I slept 10 hours and iām still dead like a flat tire.
the good news is: i got more done on my weekly cleaning day than last week.
the bad news: itās not nearly close to catch up on chores
but it gets better. at least i believe so
the cats are time consuming and lovely, fun and a bit learning the houserules.
dog & me are happiest when we nap, sleep or lounge on the couch.
oh how grateful i am for no socializing! i can barely follow my own thoughts, listening to people would be way out of my capacity atm i even loose track when i get interrupted by a cat focus = zero
have a wonderful sober weekend folks!
iām proceeding with the chores i can remember
Typical Friday here; work from home, gym (trainer kicked my butt today), relaxing at home.
Itās pretty warm, borderline hot out, but itās also very smoky, so we canāt really spend time outdoors right now, so we are just hanging out in a hot house.
I do have a video Iād like to make, so I think thats the plan for tonight. More on that laterā¦
Friday night! Iām sitting on my wee patio, dinner all cleaned up, a sleeping dog fella at my feet, itās quiet and cool outside. Seems like fall is making an early appearance here (and i admit i prefer it to the heat).
My car is in the shop and didnāt get finished today. This would have derailed me in the before times
I have everything I need right here. a bath and a book and my bed shortly, and thereās cream in the frig for my morning coffee. Bliss!
I hiked up Mt Adams early July and finally got around to making a video. I didnāt get as much footage as I wanted, everytime I wanted to film, I had to remove my gloves and it was becoming increasingly difficult the sweatier I got. Excuses⦠I know.
Wow .. That was one hell of an experience. Amazing job on the video! Thanks for taking us along. Sorry you werenāt feeling so great when you got up there but damn what a view,!!!
Iām glad I did it, because I donāt have to do it again.
It was a mental challenge for sure. Waking up at 2AM with maybe 2 hours of shitty sleep, no appetite which later turned to nausea; I ran out of gas the last 1/4 and had to will myself to the summit, but I got it done.
