Frustration over other smokers

Just need to vent here real quick.

I’ve been sober from weed for almost 6 months now. Around midnight my apartment started smelling like marijuana, and lo and behold there were some people outside the patio sharing a joint. The property I live on is smoke free, including patio and rooftop areas, which was a pretty important thing for me since the smell of weed cranks my cravings into overdrive. It’s one thing to run into people out in the wild smoking, but it’s another when they’re outside my window or on the rooftop deck where I live and am just trying my very hardest to stay sober.

I hate feeling like a snitch, but I did have to call security and email the property manager. Not the first time that this has happened, and with the weather getting nicer it’s just been getting worse. It’s been so hot here, and I don’t want to have to choose between having a stifling hot apartment or one that smells like weed.

Ugh. Just so frustrated and needed to get this off my chest.

You did the right thing. That sounds really frustrating. A place that is advertised as smoke free, should be smoke free. Period, end of sentence. I am sorry you had to go thru that. Ugh.

And congratulations on your almost 6 months…that is really fantastic!!!

I think you handled this well and you did the next right thing.

Good job, feel good about what you did here, not bad man. You did a good thing. Snitching doesn’t exist in recovery.
