front gardening coming on
All from seeds
I always love your bouquets, Ray.
Was dealing with some life on life’s terms stress but came home and found that my okra seeds are sprouting! Sometimes it’s the little things. I guess the peppers still have a little bit to go. I am about to do a quick Internet search and look for more seeds that are good for August, lots of sun and humidity and of course like I said I will do some research but if anybody knows please let me know
@Lisa07 thank you for listening
Holy Okra! So very cool.
Really very lovely! 20? How fun. Thank you for sharing.
Ever since it sprouted it’s growing pretty quickly. I think I’m going to have to get started on this raised garden bed pretty quickly so I can transplant these but I think they’re fine for another week or two in the small seed pots. In the past when I was doing stuff like this I was planting directly into the raised bed from seed and I was doing a lot of things that grow well during the fall and winter months. I’m pretty much starting over because I don’t remember a lot of stuff
I have to confess my learning experience.. those master gardeners feel free to laugh at my being unwise. I started carrots in seed cups. Every friggin seed came up. It was impossible for me to transplant into garden. I tried a bucket of water to untangle the plants but was hopeless. Package of carrot seeds says Sow directly in ground. Yep they are right. I am a believer.
Looking good my friend i miss my large garden .hopefully my son will let me use a space in their poly tunnel at race course next year
Come on over…you can use as much as you want here. Free room and board for ya.
you never know that might happen buddy thanks for the offer
My okra is doing good but I think it’s getting too tall for the small little seed pots and the roots probably need more room to grow so I’m going to have to figure out where I’m going to put them. I’ve been slacking but I really need to get this raised garden bed built or started. I also need to go to the library and do some research on the okra because I don’t know if I have to clip anything or really do anything right now. I’m pretty sure they produce some pretty cool flowers but as far as being edible I don’t know what’s going to happen with the okra. The peppers are just starting to come up. Honestly when I first planted the seeds my only goal was for them to sprout and then I feel like that would be success but now it’s past that so I’m going to try to keep them alive. I read that normally you can tell how big of a pot you need to have based on the perimeter of the plant and that’s how big the roots spread out but with this okra it’s just small two leaves and very tall so I don’t really know what’s going on with the roots and it’s hard to tell. Like if you had a plant growing and the leaves were spreading out and you did a circle that perimeter would be the size of the roots or how far they spread out but it’s hard to tell with the okra. Also I think most people are not starting single seeds in small pots they are harvesting in large areas.. I’m just a beginner. This is trial and error combined with research
And the flowers I planted on the side of the house are doing OK I guess.
When I have to study or I want to learn some thing I either go to the library or I go to Starbucks and sit outside in the patio area. For some reason I cannot learn or concentrate at my apartment I have to go elsewhere to study. That’s some thing I noticed about a year ago when I stated my investing and Finance studies and I don’t know if other people have to do the same thing.
