Getting easier #192

I am fully enjoying being sober. Little over half a year now. The only thing I am struggling with is feeling like I’m in a rutt, day to day is the exact same. At first I liked my routine. Now I just feel…idk. wake up get my daughter ready and off to school, get ready and go to work, come home, homework for me and her (im an online student) make dinner, get her ready for bed and showered, then clean up and maybe a tv show then off to bed to go go go all over again. I just cant seem to find me time.

Congratulations on ur sobriety! Great job! I can absolutely relate to ur post. I thrive off of routine but it can get very mundane at times doing the same thing day in and day out. I used to struggle with having any me time also. I actually heard somewhere about scheduling time in for self care. It felt weird at first bcuz i felt like i should be doing many other things but that. But at the same time, we cant pour from am empty cup. Basically things in our lives are better if we take care of ourselves also. Do u think theres any wiggle room in ur routine to schedule time for urself? Even 10 min?
Also adding a new hobby or something to enjoy doing every now and again, was also helpful. Helped to break up the routine a bit. Again finding time can be hard to do when ur busy. Sobriety gives us a very full life. And self care is just as important as any other task that needs completing

I can relate. Ive been buying health groupons and scheduling appointments so i can try something new and look forward to something. I just did a few chryotherapy sessions for the first time. Next im trying accupuncture. Sober life and routine doesnt have to be boring

That’s a flipping excellent idea and way to try out different self-care routines that are available. Thanks!
