For me, looking at pictures of my favorite things, places, and people can help ground me into the present moment and fight against urges. I’d love to see what pictures people use as a grounding technique. I’ll post my two and a brief description of them.
Picture 1: I live in the PNW, but am originally from Florida. One of the first things I noticed when I moved here was Mt. Hood. I was blown away by the size of her and just captivated by her beauty and presence. Before I sprained my foot, I would find ways to take pictures of her, and I even got to get close and person a few weeks ago.
Picture 2: this is Bella. She’s my fur child. I’m absolutely obsessed with her and she’s absolutely the best thing to ever happen to me (minus me getting sober).
I’d love to see everyone’s pictures and the stories behind them.
This guy right here has kept me grounded the last 17 years, since the second I knew he was coming! Today, this was him in his new car he bought for himself. I’ll tell you what, he is16 years old and has been working at McDonald’s less than a year…he’s still got $3k still in the bank after he bought the car. I’m proud of this boy!! Heart of gold to match his brains, I just love this kid!
