Of all people to understand how awesome this is…

I can blow out a candle…

Across a table…

In…

A single breathe.

:wind_face::candle:

Can’t tell you how long it’s been since I’ve been able to do that! Woo! :raising_hands:t2:

Amazing! Such a ā€œlittleā€ thing, but oh so meaningful.

Honestly being able to breathe deeply without a rasp or an itch that would cause a coughing spell were two big improvements for me!

Glad you’re experiencing positive results! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

Yes! I forgot how much I’ve subconsciously rearranged my life to accommodate my addiction.

For example: I knew I smelled, so I would avoid people in stores. Yesterday, I went to grab something out of the freezer aisle in a store and noticed there were some people close to the door I needed. I immediately became apologetic and then thought: you crazy introverted loon! You don’t smell anymore! And then I had a little skip in my step after that.

It’s those moments that I realize just how enslaved I was to cigarettes.

This right here is right on the money! Layers and layers of subconscious shortcuts, shame loops, and avoidance priorities. Unwinding all the tightly bound behaviors and thought patterns surrounding nicotine addiction is so hard, but it so worth the hard work!

Never again. I’m a non smoker!

Happy to have been quit for 4 months! Thankfully I have no urge to return to nicotine despite the occasional cravings :flexed_biceps::smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I’m giving blood today and got to answer ā€œNot at allā€ on a questionnaire for the first time in 13 years. I smoked cigarettes the first few years of using nicotine but transitioned to e-cigarettes when I was about 20 years old. I dislike being prideful, but this was a moment of pride that didn’t feel like I needed to tamp down! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

@Noshame Congrats on your 700 days with no nicotine!! :tada:

Being proud of something -or someone- is rather different from being prideful. IMHO. Good work & I’m proud of you Alex!

Nicotine is a mofo to quit

For me
Next on my quit is pmo
Doing better but that ones confusing

Then after the ill be after caffeine

I went 2 days with no caffeine very recently
On the 3rd moring i had 0 caffeine and i dudnt realise it. Wasnt even thinking about it like i didn’t even know
In the moring i had a headache and saw double and felt weak
I was pushing grocery carts that day
I messaged my wife and was like hun, i cant do this i either need to come home or even go to the hospital cuz i dont know whats going on. Then she said did you have coffee. I got to that fresh coffee and chugged my ice coffee cup after cup. Then felt fine and even better

That day i learned withdrawal is different for each substance which makes me wonder wtf was in my weed when i was with my negative friends

As for nicotine
I didn’t think i could do it. I ligit thought i couldnt. The withdrawal happened for a year and a half because i used nic replacement products like gum and lozenges.
I almost caved sevril times
Funny story
I had a nic lozenge in my mouth while i held my wifes hand while she gave bith. It was all too much and i almost passed out. The dr made me sit down. I spit out the lozenge and felt better

I still think those damn things smell good lol the cigarettes lol
I will never go back to them
Withdrawal was too much to start over

This phrase
Which actually isnt a phrase to me it a piece of me. A normal sentence
..i didn’t think i could do it till i did

That’s a good point, I appreciate the distinction! Honest opinions are the best kinds of opinions :squinting_face_with_tongue: thanks Menno!

I’m glad to hear you’re trying to live healthy, addiction free life! I cut out energy drinks 5 months ago and now only drink a cup of black tea every morning and the very occasional soda! Caffeine withdrawal is no joke!

I tried patches years ago in an attempt to quit after rehab, but I couldn’t stay away from the vape. The camel snus mellow flavor was the only pouch I ever tried, but it made me sick everytime.

I thought I’d never quit too! I had convinced myself that quitting was impossible, that the withdrawal would be to painful/annoying and that vaping ā€œwasn’t that badā€ for me :joy: I’m glad we both made the decision to quit and stay quit :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

I had a nic vape box and vapped a whopping 16mg. How the fk did i even afford that stuff on ssi is a mystery.

My box lit up different color lights

I would wake up at 2am
Get a quick nic fix with super ease
Go back to bed
For about 5 years

The vapes decieve so so much
