Had to reset.... 414 days, back to 0

Thank you so much for the kind words and welcome to the community! Its great to have you

Thats a good question. I havenā€™t figured out what that will be. I have never tried aa meetings. Might give it a go.

Thank you for sharing your story of relapse and recovery with me. Glad to know I am in good company. I look forward to have triple digits under my belt again. You are an inspiration as well. God bless

Wow what a source of positivity this response is! Thank you, truly. Its so easy for our brains to beat us up. This app is such a blessing to have access to so many nice people like you.

Iā€™m honestly not sure what to do differently this time. The only thing I can think of are aa meetings or checking in on this app daily - even on my good days. I think I would tell a friend to reach out to me the next time they feel they are going to relapse so we can do something else together instead.

I like that. Thats a great mentality to have.

My partner does support me, but heā€™s not an addict himself so I donā€™t think he understands fully. I think heā€™s starting to though

Yes, that is the harsh reality. Thank you. Wishing you peace and joy as well.

Yeah I am familiar with that loop as well. Since alcohol is a depressant it definitely contributes to the negative self talk. Trying to build good self care habits alongside remaining sober. Hope youā€™re doing well, best wishes

You fell off your horse, you just need to get back on it. 414 days is some win, think of all the healing your body was able to do. 1 day hasnā€™t thrown that all away !

Thank you! Unfortunately I have drank 5 times total since relapsing. Last night being the last. I hope I havent undone all of the healing my body was able to do. I have decided my plan is to start attending church weekly and have high hopes for that really keeping me grounded and focused. Also, checking in on here regularly

414v5 is still massively in the non drinking park. Just get back on the horse and beat the 414. I find Buddhism and mindfulness a great help. I have bought Luxury feathered duvets and pillows to improve my relaxation space, these small things make a good difference.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I recently fell off the wagon. Was short 2 months to making my first year. But I went to a wedding and when they did toasts they offered sparkling water and ginger ale. Maybe you can find something similar?

It was my sisters wedding on New Years Eve. So it was a bit tough but I made it through. It feels good when you do, and terrible when you donā€™t. A battle some of us live with daily.

Well huge congrats on that 10 months. As others have said here, that time cant be taken from you. Thanks for the advice! Youā€™re so right, feels great to stick to your guns and so disappointing not to. Wishing you all the success :raised_hands:t3: :white_check_mark:
