Awwww guys! I used to hate my birthday and hide from the phone in my active addiction. You folks gave my birthday the very best start.
Two years sober at 45 today is exactly where I am meant to be. Thank you to each of you for helping me realize that. Ya’ll keep me sober and it is an honor to try to do the same for you. I love this community and I love each of you beautiful honest addicts. So much love to each of you today. And cake, always cake.

Its lasagne tonight. I’m going on a road trip next week with my Mom so there will be lots of time to help her get out of her comfort zone then, but keeping the peace before the trip is important to me. Plus I’ll eat something old school and delicious like chicken marsala or chicken piccata. I like any restaurant where they call blue cheese dressing roquefort.

I ate so many things that I have to put off push ups until tomorrow.
Brussel sprouts and an anchovy toast for appetizers and a full burger and fries with an iced tea. Pretty standard burger it had a double smashed patty, kaiser bun, half sour pickles, onions and a Big Mac-like sauce. Then while we were walking around after dinner I ran across a coffee ice cream shake with whipped cream for dessert.
I went with my sister and her man. My sister used to be a big drinking buddy for me. It was really nice to bond over a huge meal and some honest conversation and I couldn’t be happier to end it sober at home and not sloppy at some bar stool. I’m ready for my 45th year. Full but ready.
