Harmless Cigarette. Anyone Tried It?

So, I used to smoke in college, not enough to make a big deal out of it and never enough to where I became addicted. But I picked up smoking again at the beginning of this month and it’s becoming a problem. I really don’t want to smoke anymore. I want to be a better role model for my future clients and practice what I preach. I want to be healthier and be better.

So I ordered these “harmless cigarettes” online. $30 for 2 which I’m willing to try. One of “oxygen” (no flavor) and one is menthol flavor. They are fake plastic type cigarettes that uses a non-electric breathable air filter. There’s no nicotine, chemicals, or vapor. I figured I’d try it but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it before.

I like that there’s no nicotine, chemicals, or vapor because even the e cigs with no or low nicotine still have the vapor which can be harmful to your health. For me, a big thing about smoking is the oral fixation, breathing in and seeing the smoke plus the light headed feeling from the nicotine. But I got over losing the light headed feeling with drinking so I know I can do it with smoking. The only other thing I wouldn’t have is the smoke which I can trade in if that means there’s no health risks.

I ordered two so we will see how they go.

And this is where the challenge lies. It is the nicotine that forms the physical addiction to tobacco. It is the act of smoking that forms the psychological bond that you have with smoking. These Faux cigs only address half the equation. You will likely experience some nicotine withdrawal, which will make the challenge physically tougher, depending on your level of dependence.

You might want to pick up some 2mg nicotine lozenges to go with your safe cigs, at least initially, and step down your nicotine intake. Eventually, you will have to find some other “ritual” to replace the faux smoking. Something to do with your hands. I might suggest a good old fashioned yo-yo.
