Has anyone heard of or seen the documentary "One Little Pill"? It is in regard to Naltrexone... has anyone tried it using The Sinclair Method?

Pretty much what the title says. I watched it last night was did not know of Naltrexone. This is the trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPiiNvlFXa0

Not familiar with the show, the drug gets good reviews on web md. I am on antabuse for drinking and it works great, would not be here without it

Nice! Congratulations! They showed I think 3 people on Naltrexone using The Sinclair Method and it was really amazing with the results. Kind of a wacked out method but it seems to work.

I am currently on it, not sure what the Sinclair thingy is, but certainly curbs my urge for drinking!!

Awesome. Great to hear it’s working for you!

I was on acamprosate for eight months and I guess it helped a bit with the cravings but it definitely was not like taking a pill and I’m cured. I still drank here and there on it, just skipped the pill.

Have 55 days in now with no drugs and my cravings aren’t all that bad, were worse the first time I quit and that was with the medicine.

Whatever works for you, what works for one may so nothing for another. Acamprosate was pricey too, even with my insurance.

Good job , way to see suchsomething support ! Lets hope it works

No u have.never heard ofof this method

I HAVENT why what is it I’m confused

I friend of mine does The Sinclair Method. Basically, you take the pill an hour before you drink. The pill blocks certain receptors in the brain that are responsible for that euphoric feeling you get from drinking / drugs etc.

So, he’ll have a couple of beers but not get a buzz from it. The concept is that you will get bored by the drinking because you are not getting anything out of it and eventually cut down. Or it then becomes more “manageable” because you are not constantly on that chase for another drink. You don’t feel the “drunk or high”.

However, he did note that after a few drinks your body still reacts to what the booze does… motor skills are off, you may be off balance. So basically your body gets drunk but you don’t experience the mental aspect of it.

The key to TSM (The Sinclair Method) is that you take the pill before you drink. Some folks take the pill daily even if not drinking. From what I understand that may become an issue because you are then blocking your natural endorphins when you don’t need to.

I tried TSM today after 13 days sober, and have to tell you I didn’t really have much fun, nothing tasted very good, left early enough to actually drive home with wife. Keeping my logs and gonna try it. 78-80% sounds better than the 5-10%. Did go easy because nothing really tasted good. Will keep updates here if OK with everyone

My friend uses TSM because he can’t stop drinking after years of attempts. You said you were 13 days sober then tried TSM. Did you try TSM because you were craving?

Yea I guess, was researching alternatives to 12 step, and came across TSM after the 13 days. Was on naltrexone since day 1, and continue to take.

What is tms

Tsm I’m out of the loop right now uh

@Ashley_Stock TSM is The Sinclair Method.
