@anon2074485 should have some good info on hashimotos!

I suspect I battle leaky gut also (I have celiac, fibromyalgia, raynauds, etc) so I take colostrum pills, probiotics, magnesium, vitamins and I feel best when I do a paleo diet with no grains or processed foods, especially with no sugars. Good luck!

Colostrum? Isn’t that sugary breast milk (fore milk)??? I didn’t know that was actually a thing you could buy.

Oh, google tells me it is that early breast milk from immediate post delivery. Before the true milk comes in. Still…didn’t know it had medicinal properties beyond what a newborn would need.

Yes, I buy it in pill form, my GI doctor said it rebuilds the lining in your intestines which is important for healing. He recommends taking it anytime you take probiotics but be warned it can certainly make you more fertile he says. I found that out months after starting the program so I’m glad I didn’t really need to worry about that part lol.

Yup, Mandi is right, I’m one of the lucky ones with Hashimotos :yum: If you want to know anything write me an IM :hugs:
Not everyone with Hashimotos has the same symptoms and problems. These meds help (at least) me: magnesium, vitamin d + k2 and selenium and of course the thyroid meds.
Having almost the same daily routine and enough sleep are important too. Gluten should be cut out of our diet bc it may cause inflammation, some tolerate it, some not.

Thank you all for the answers I was thinking I wasn’t going to get any replies on this!! This is not a fun thing to deal with the fatigue on top of withdrawl is rough! Its hard to get a lot of stuff I haven’t worked in 5 months but I got out and got some probiotics and bone broth today. @anon2074485 where do you get selenium from? How long ago were you diagnosed and do you feel you have it under control? Im thinking of going more plant based my weaknesses is cheese and I know I shouldn’t have to much dairy!

I get everything mentioned above in my pharmacy. I was diagnosed 20 years ago (oh my now I feel old lol) and knew nothing about it except that I should take thyroid medication for the rest of my life. Doctors here in Germany don’t know much about this disease. When getting sober I first started to read studies about it, mostly from the US bc Doctors there are better educated with everything about Hashimotos.
My bloodwork mostly looks the same. When I get an acute episode I either get super sleepy (fatigue like) or totally hyper :joy: But since becoming sober it pretty much calmed down.
When going nearly glutenfree and with less meat (and almost zero dairy) I feel the best
Edit: beeing in a Hashimoto Facebook group helped a lot :hugs:

Yes it’s all new to me I don’t face insurance now so not taking any thyroid specific meds hopefully that will change soon, but really trying to change my diet to help as well!! I will definitely look into a facebook group thank you so much!!

Hi. I have hashimitos. You need thyroid meds for the rest of your life and once they get the dosage right, u won’t even know u have it. It’s important u take meds and go to your doctor every few months for bloodwork. It’s totally livable and you’ll feel so much better with the hormone.
Good luck.

Really that gives me so much hope thank you so much!!
