Been a rough few days… I had went to the store to pick up some cat food and dog food. Came home and fed eggs(dog)and solo(cat)… Walked into my bedroom and saw my vitamin D3 bottle on my bed and half the bottle is gone… Solo must of knocked off counter - wedged behind my butcher block- rushed eggs to ER- they did pumped his stomach and kept him until 3:30am… I waited and slept in the parking lot… He is ok for now but will not know for sure until a few days… this type of toxicity has prolonged effects…So praying - he is my whole world… the vet said I would need to get his blood tested every day for 4 days - and I just cannot afford that already dropped 1650 at ER… To add to all of that the man I had in my life I called him while I was at the ER … no answer- sent text of what’s going on got a short reply - and did not even receive a phone call- really!!! Wow!! My main priority obviously is my pup - my lil heart is shattered and just need him to be ok…The amount he ate is super toxic and fatal for dogs… We are on day 2 - he is eating just not his spaz self…
Omg i am sooo sorry for what happened I am praying that Eggs will be okay. That really is such a scary situation. Keep up the positive thinking tho. Sounds like u may have caught this in time.
I’m so sorry about your pup; glad you acted fast and got it out of his system - you’ve done everything you could; sending you hugs and hope for a speedy recovery!!
That’s tough, sending you strength. And sorry you did not get the emotional support needed from the guy. Been there before. It hurts I know. Focus on you and your pets. I hope they will be ok
So sorry you had to experience this super scary situation. Being sober during dramatic events like this is all the more reason to stay on this path. Having a clear mind to face these challenges and be there for our loved ones never gets old. Don’t forget to take care of yourself too. Maybe some nice comfort food or a hot bath will help sooth you. Sending hugs
Holding positive thoughts for eggs!!! Poor guy. It’s good he is eating. I take vitamin D. And have cats and dogs. Reminder to me to watch out for this sort of thing.
Man, that sucks!! Hope Eggs recovers quickly…
I’m so sorry you are going through this and I am praying for you and Eggs. For what it’s worth, my dog got some meatballs a few years back(stolen off the counter) that had onion and garlic in them, lots of it, and that too is extremely toxic to dogs, same deal rushed to the ER vet, pumped the stomach but couldn’t be sure if it got in her blood or not, it was a time will tell thing. They did not have me retest blood, only to contact them if anything changed and she would have to go back in and then be tested. She’s still here and I’m hoping the same for your fur baby . It did take her a few days to recover because it was an overall dramatic experience for her.
We are all here for support, I know how important these angels with fur are to us.
I too am so sorry that happened! praying for you both! I know first hand how our fur babies mean the world to us!
To all pet owners knowledge … D3 is what they put copious amounts in Rat poison I did not know that . Would not even had that supplement in my place…. Thank you everyone for the prayers and support means a lot
