Hello, this is my 1st time ON THIS APP!

I previously had the I Am Sober app and loved it but deleted it when I relapsed. I was only sober for 3 MONTHS! I thought I had gotten my shit together so I decided to slowly ease myself back into alcohol. It escalated so quickly. A harmless glass of wine turned into me drinking straight out of the bottle. Thinking back to me drinking 2 bottles of wine in one night..YUCK! Unfortunately i have anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, blah, blah, blah. I have been on multiple prescription medications since 2018. When I took Lexapro i noticed i would get drunk off of 2 drinks. I took advantage and would drink until I blacked out. I would drink with the intention to get alcohol poisoning. I also started cutting myself again and almost committed suicide…AGAIN. Let’s just say i vomited a lot, which made me relapse on my eating disorder. I felt that alcohol truly dulled all of my conditions. Getting sober was so gut wrenching. Having to experience things with no way out was hell. Im trying to end the genetic alcoholism in my family. Being sober has made me make clear decisions for my future. My husband and I decided we don’t want biological children, and if we were to want to start a larger family in the future when can adopt. Not all females are meant to be moms and that’s okay. Fuck alcoholism. Damn that was long. If you read all the way down here I love you.

Hi dear,

It’s a touching story, and I really hope that you will take care of yourself slowly and steadfastly. The conditions we are born with are just the starting point, they do not define our reality on a long term as we have the ability to re-write our stories. The simple fact that you are back here means that your story is in the process of being re-written and there are no doubts that you will one day look back at your life and it will all make sense.

I am sending you infinite love and support and I hope to see you often here checking in with us.

When you were drinking or using if you were intimidated, you just went to a different bar or a different dealer, or just got over it right? Same thing

Identify people who can support you in times when cravings get strong. Write out a list of things that you can do besides give into a craving to refer back to in tough times.

While things are calmer its good to prep because in addiction cravings will come and its best to have your resources identified so you can take positive counteraction
