Fell off the wagon this weekend and went on a bender. Doesn’t help that the person I’m with is my dealer. Think I need to get away from all of it. 1 day at a time is all I can do.
I’m sorry for the setback.
That’s a rough one, living with your dealer. That creates some special challenges for sure - but not unique ones - I’ve read in the community about others who had the same or similar situation to deal with.
Keep reading around; try to dig in with this community - you will get a lot of support here.
I’m new here… only day 26 free of my drug of choice. But, I love this group of folks and the support & purpose they help to bring into my life.
You got this - and like you said, it’s one day at a time. ![]()
Day 1 for me again too. Let’s stay strong ![]()
Sorry to hear about your relapse.
For me, separating myself from the people/places/things I associated with drinking/using was crucial for me to be able to stay sober for any extended amount of time.
Don’t hesitate to reach out for additional support ![]()

Thats what becoming sober is, progress not perfection. You came back, you are here, you are thinking through how this happened and actions you can take to minimize further risk. Thats excellent! Dont beat yourself up for a misstep. Be proud of yourself for recognizing it and come to the place where you know you are supported and safe. Thats a job well done. Just keep holding on. You can do it, we are with you
I was once told that it helps to change people, places, and things early in recovery.
It might help to avoid people that use or want you to use. For places if may help to avoid bars, raves, or places you associate with using drugs. For changing things, it’s not a bad idea to get rid of any paraphernalia and things that remind you or tempt you to use.
Best of wishes in your recovery.
Welcome to a new beginning!
One day at a time…
We got this! ![]()
Awesome post; so encouraging…
Thanks for sharing!
The fact you made the statement
speaks volumes. I lived with my dealer and tried to get sober. It doesn’t work out well in my experience. I have been on both sides. Someone that truly loves and cares for you wouldn’t deal… especially to you. Just a bit to think about. You already know how to get better….
