That’s an opiate blocker. It’s called subuclade. It’s a mix of buprenophrine and naltrexone. But you can still get high on it if you try. There’s also vivitrol which is a monthly injection of naltrexone. I was on that for 8 months and it really helped. The article didn’t really say what the active drug was in this new “cure” so I’m skeptical. The trial is taking place where I live so I will be able to follow it closely
I think as long as this is given as PART of treatment then great, anything to help a person get clean is super awesome in my books. But there still needs to be addressed the reasons why someone would take the drug in the first place. Otherwise this just becomes a bandaid.
