I’m seven days clean from alcohol and cocaine as of today… But I’ve noticed I’ve picked up weed here and there to smoke even though it’s never been my forte. I keep it very manageable but I’m wondering if that’s not a viable transition. Anyway, new here. Looking forward to being a part of the community
Welcome Alex! I’m glad you found us here, the community has helped me a lot. Congrats on 7 days!
The weed situation is a bit out of my experience zone, but I’ll mention that it’s often said “Alcohol wasn’t my problem. Alcohol was the solution to my problems.” and I think that applies here. My fear is that using weed to get through is keeping the seat warm for alcohol and cocaine to come back.
If you’ve smoked more than once in the 7 days you’ve been sober it’s more than here or there. If your goal is sobriety then you aren’t quite there yet.
I agree. I thought it was definitely a slippery slope. I’m going to cut that out as well and stop using it as a replacement crutch
Welcome! This is a great place to be if you need support! Everyone is amazing and so kind, but honest and that’s what I love about it SO much!
The problem with us addicts is that we often seitch addiction, what could seem as manageable now is just a slippery slope to unmanageable, nip it in the butt now
Hi Alex and welcome to the forum. Congratulation on your seven days and good decision to cut out the weed as well. As the others said it’s manageable now but it could soon become your new Doc, typical behaviour with any mind altering substance for addicts.
