Hi Dana

It’s sounds silly but I qualified as a gym instructor a while back and ive gone out working for myself iam at it 10 months and it just does not seem to be working out can’t get people in the door unfortunately I love its the first job ive ever had that I enjoy doing so I dont want to throw the towel in just yet

And that brings other problems such as finances trying to run a home support a son then its paying on your mind why isnt this working out aswell I dont no probably sounds silly

No it doesnt sound silly at all!! Financial stuff can be a HUGE trigger for stress and worry. I get it! I actually wanted to be a fitness coach for the longest time and didnt go thru with it yet bcuz of the worry of not getting clients in the door. Its hard when u work for urself. That income needs to come in to support urself and ur family.

Im glad u enjoy fitness tho. Its sooo good for physical and mental health  I would keep at it! Especially if ur truly passionate about it, which it seems that u are!

Can u supplement that income with something else until u get ur business off the ground?

I never had a job that you go to where ylu want to go it has a purpose if you get me

I love been able to help people fitness jist done so much for me in my early recovery

Iam currently trying to get help from social welfare here in ireland but there making it impossible right now id be financially better off to close up and go on social welfare which makes no sense at all how you can be better off unemployed than employed this country is backwards unfortunately

I am looking at going back to college part time to study addiction studies

Thats awesome! Sounds like u have some great goals for urself  How are u doing recovery wise through all this?

Iam doing ok yes i dont want to use or drink just finding it very hard to get motivated

Ive lost my way a small bit regarding meetings and doing the right things but iam back on track now the last 2 weeks so iam happy my recovery needs to come first before anything and I forgot that for a while

Thats sooo very true. I have over 4.5 years clean and sober and at times I have seen myself get complacent and then I start feeling awful mentally and emotionally bcuz of that. We have a daily reprieve for sure. Our addictions never took a day off in the problem, so why should we take a day off in recovery

I have another addiction that Im working on now, with regards to my food issues. And I recently have gotten complacent with that program, had a slip there a few days ago and so I can relate with u on sort of “losing my way”. I have been feeling that lately when it comes to my eating issues. But all we have is today! Its a brand new day to make changes in our lives and to get back on track with our recoveries (however that may look)

4.5 years thats amazing Dana well done

Yes complacent is the word I leave other thing’s into my head that I think are important but then when you slow down a bit you see there not

Sorry to hear you had a slip with regards to a different issue we really need to put ourselves first before anything theres no way I want to go back to where I was 2 years ago thats for sure
