Hiking Club (Walking Sober)

Hike through the wetlands of Mallorca. Too early for the big bird migration but very beautiful nonetheless.

I was lucky, had just a tiny bit of rain at the end of my walk. It was lovely.

As a decent Dutch citizen, Im sure you had all the necessary equipment with you!

Did a mountain hike today that felt like my first real hike ever. 10 km which took me about 5 hours, some beginners bouldering near the top, lots of loose rocks and gravel everywhere, hard to discern trails. I had a blast.

This one for @TMAC, so many pretty succulents up there.

Love the wild rosemary in bloom

And goats everywhere

You wrote you’re in Malorca, right?

It got me thinking about my Uncle (Dad’s brother) that left Ireland after he retired and has been living in Lanzarote for 10+ years. Cycles everywhere. There’s some incredible plants there (never been, just seen photos, and it’s a known spot for unique plants).

My final hike (for now) on Mallorca. Higher, further, longer than my previous one. Pushed me pretty far. Awesome.

I half expected to find a bowling alley somewher up there.

Couldn’t see the Pacific today with all the fog down there. But I did get to see my first rattlesnake up close :scream::scream::scream: as he was coiled up looking at me. I thought walking away slowly NOT REACHING FOR MY PHONE!! Was the best move. I did manage to get a pick of his exit. Almost soiled me armor :joy: I’ve always thought if I ever saw a rattlesnake it would be sitting in the middle of the trail sunning itself. He made his presence known and left. Must of been 4-5 feet long.
Fuuuck me :poop:

 I am terrified of snakes. We don’t even have poisonous ones here and I loose control whenever I see one. I almost jumped on a strangers back one time walking on a trail when one slithered in front of me  I am truly impressed that you were able to get a picture at all!

Oh. Hell. No.

I don’t do rattlesnakes. Nope.

My body would take a screenshot and factory reset. I’d do all the things simultaneously: soil myself, have a heart attack, stroke, and puke.

Nope.

I’m glad you brought out your camera. Smart move.

The cameraman never dies.

Gorgeous!

There’s something ancient and familiar about these pictures. So beautiful.

Thanks for sharing.

Was finally able to get in a hike. First one this year, it was a quick 3+ mile out and back to a waterfall!

That’s so beautiful! I instantly feel two things:

1.) peaceful

2.) like I should be looking for Bigfoot hidden somewhere in one of these pictures.
