Home alone and want to watch porn

I need help, am home alone, im 16 and dont have a car, to cold to go outside. I want to do it so bad. Help.

Hi there,

I myself am not a porn addict, but hoping I can help somehow in the meantime. Is there anything you can do to distract yourself? Maybe call someone? Engage in one of your hobbies or interests? Maybe try searching the forum for reading material, there is tons of stuff and suggestions on here regarding porn addiction.

Good for you for reaching out on the forum when you realized you were in trouble. Hoping that someone with first-hand experience with this specific addiction will chime in, they would probably be able to offer more tailored advice than I. @DungeonMaster? There are plenty others, Rob is just the first that comes to mind.

Hey bro, good to reach out, please don’t.

I’m sick, and home alone today as well. My default would’ve been to watch porn too.

Instead I managed to play piano a little then retired to bed to watch non-erotic movie.

You may not have piano or any other instrument to distract you, but you can still do something to take your mind off porn.

I will suggest you download duolingo, it’s a great app where you can learn a new language of your choice or you can tune to comedy channels. I bet you, if you can survive being home alone today, it will be easier next time.

I’m guessing @TMAC must have been an Angel for the timely intervention.

Most times in the past I’ve prayed and hoped for such intervention which never came.

Glad your case is different.

Yes, we are here to help save one another. The fact that I can encourage you not to do it, and you didn’t, gives me more strength too.

Looking forward to when I will break my previous record of 69 days and continue to be stronger.

Hey! Sorry, I’m late to the game! I’ve been in and out of treating patients all morning. Barely saw this.

My suggestion is that you either stick around on the forum and read through the threads, or you disconnect. Turn your phone off and put it in the living room next to an open window. Open all the curtains. Turn on music, read a new book, exercise, shovel the snow or clean the house.

Get productive. Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. You will grt hit with the worst cravings when you are wasting time. Stop now and get to work.

Glad you were able to get through the cravings. Do you have any recovery liturature you could read? Anything by Patrick Carnes would do. See if you could make a plan for when this craving hits again. I found making phone calls to friends on the regular helps me to reach out when I’m in need. Best wishes, hope to see you around here more often

I play a bit of video games, myself. Everybody has a different taste in what makes a game good, so forgive me if I have a different set of games I play haha: but I enjoy Minecraft, Sims, Skyrim, and (honestly, just about everything from) Nintendo (seriously, the Switch is awesome haha!) What game are you looking at?

And good job on coming here in the trial of the moment. Each time we say No, we get stronger. Hang in there today and you will be extremely proud of yourself tonight (and each night you continue to say no).

Sorry its been a while, took a break from the forms for a bit. I also love Nintendo, smash bros on the switch is my main game as of now. Any other Nintendo games you can recommend?

I do need to buy some of those books, or maby get them on audio book.

Splatoon 2, if you are into that sort of game  Between it and Smash Bros Ultimate, I am quite entertained. Also, Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a good game that I enjoyed quite a bit. I currently am focusing on Octopath Traveler so if you like RPGs you might have to check it out as well sometime.

I am not advocating for video games, haha, but I do find that when I start to struggle with temptation that it can help take my mind off the desire to go back to my old ways. I do have to make sure not to get carried away and play all day though haha
