Original Swedish version, or English version? They have two different names, can never remember which is which. Great movie.
The english version.
Thatâs the one!
I dunno if someone mentioned it somewhere in this thread, but my #1 favorite horror film is a Spanish movie called Archivo 253. In English in Amazon itâs File 253, and it is very worth whatever they charge to see it. So good.
All of the Rec movies, the most of Alien, Conjuring, It, Insidious, Get Out, Paranormal ActivityâŠoh so many
I have seen both . I like the Swedish version. Donât know if any of youâs have seen the girl with the dragon tattoo? The Swedish version with noomi rapace. The English version with Daniel Craig was not as good in my opinion.
Found this old threadâŠare there still horror fans on here?
Anyways, itâs Friday movie night. Now that Iâm sober, Iâm gonna try to do double features every Friday and Saturday. I always tried before, but was always too drunk halfway through the second one to finish lol.
So, tonight we have:
Slaxx - new Shudder original horror comedy about possessed blue jeansâŠwhile it got decent reviews, Iâm not expecting much lol.
Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker (1982) - another flick on Shudder. Not sure how this ones gonna go. Love me some silly 80âs horror, tho and the premise seems wildâŠ
Anybody else watching anything spooky tonightđ»?
I am unfortunately stuck at work, but I would be watching anything Rob Zombie or anything terrible. I love awful horror movies like Dead Snow or Zombeavers. Haha
I LOVE Dead Snow! One of my favorite zombie movies. And Zombeavers is hilarious. Iâm also a big Rob Zombie fan. Did you hear he might be taking on The Munsters?? Should be interesting lol.
I havenât heard that, but I would be stoked to see it!
Have you seen Slither? Itâs amazing haha
UhâŠyes!! I watch Slither like every month lol. In my top 10. I wish James Gunn would come back to directing horror. You clearly have good taste, my friend lol.
Itâs in my top also! And same to you!
While I enjoy contemporary horror/psychological thrillers, I also like the older/classics. I believe the directors and screenwriters faced the challenge of scaring/thrilling an audience, while still adhering to the social sensibilities of the period. A great example is 1962âs Carnival of Souls.
I remember seeing bits of this movie on late-night local UHF TV station in Boston, growing up, but had never watched the entire film. Then during a family trip to SLC, we stopped at the Great Salt Lake museum, where they highlighted the films production history, since key parts had been filmed there. We bought a copy on DVD, and watched it on my laptop in our room. Scary, suspenseful, and wholly appropriate for everyone except small children. My then 11yo daughter really liked it.
I used to watch horror in my late teens. Enjoyed Silence of the Lambs and Night M. Shyamalanâs works. Read Stephen King a lot. There were two movies that scared me seriously and I had nightmares long afterwards: Blair witch project and Event Horizon.
I donât watch horror anymore. I have enough nightmare material to last me for a lifetime
I feel as if I have been summoned to this thread
Carnival of souls is a masterpiece and an important movie. It has influenced cult directors such as Romero or Lynch. A must see for horror fans
I used to watch horror movies all the time. Itâs not the case anymore, only from time to time. Anyway the latest iâve seen is an Australian one, Wolf Creek 2, a great sequel of a great movie
I will have to check Wolf Creek 1 and 2 out then.
