How are you taking care of yourself today?

I thought it could be fun to start a thread with just a few things y’all are doing today or each day to take care of yourself. What’s your response?

I got a new one up a couple of days ago. Im working one from our cod trip we just did! We got em! Our second set had a fish on every hook for a while. We released a huge shark that got tangled in out gear. Im gonna try and finish it tonight.

I am taking care of myself by spending and appreciating precious time with my daughter tonight. It’s a Friday before a three day weekend which meant I would have gotten a big bottle of wine tonight and passed out. No quality time with my baby girl. Instead we’ve been snuggled under a blanket together watching Mulan :heart:

I like this thread Rosa!
Today I’m doing projects around the house, which I love! I’ll try to do some sort of workout, and be on here this evening.

Hey Rosa, cracking thread as always :ok_hand: I’m with @MamaM and just chilling. Trying to accept we are ok to take it steady for a while is hard sometimes. So many DIY jobs on my list but I’m laying down doing some breathing exercises and then it’s off to my eldest for dinner later. The jobs will wait, I’m sure lol…@MamaM hope you are enjoying some chill time, we got this :+1::raised_hands:t2::hugs::two_hearts:

Thanks, amigos, for playing along! Today I’m going to a farmers market for the first time in a loooooong time! It’s one of my favorite summertime activities. Then I’m going to cook some nutritious foods and enjoy the beautiful cool and humidity free day!

Today I will do some chores around the house, take care of some bills, you know the fun stuff. Then I will go for a swim at the gym. Maybe get out this afternoon and fish a bit. Relax. Watch a movie this evening. I won’t drink. Tomorrow get up early for a hike and give my new boots a test drive. Oh, I need to get a haircut too sometime this weekend because I’m back to office world on Tuesday. Working from home for the past 15 months is over. That’s going to take a bit of adjustment, but I won’t drink.

When I decided it was finally time to get sober last November my plan has been to take care of my health first. First year of sobriety focus on health. So far I have had my eyes fixed and been to the dentist. Had 2nd crown done yesterday. Been going to the gym fairly regular since February and lost a bunch of weight. Feeling stronger.

So, my plan for today and the days coming is to keep on keepin on with my plan. Get my shit in one sock. The plan is simple. But the execution takes commitment. I will stick to my plan. I will not drink.

Have a stellar weekend friends!

Bye for now…

Today I took care of myself by spending time with my family and mother in law.
Working in the garden so it looks nice again and I felt good about doing it (I do not like gardening).
And last but not least: eating healthy without snacking :hugs:

Lovely tread Rosa :heart::rose:

I am taking care of myself today by letting go of feelings of inadequacy and insecurity and being true to myself.

Today I listened to the NPR segment that @Ravikamor posted a few days ago and I also read another chapter of my current book about recovery. I have been trying to do at least 1 chapter a day but I’ve missed a few here and there.

Of course I’ve also done a lot of reading and some posting around here also.
