Happy New Year everyone! I’m half way through my first week of sobriety. I have been keeping busy by reorganizing and deep cleaning the kitchen. Today is the first time in a long time I curled my hair and did my nails JUST BECAUSE. So yeah I just wanted to check in with everyone and share my easiest day I’ve had so far! Anyone else want to share how their day went?
Glad to hear you had a great day.
I went and saw my granddaughters. Went for a nice drive and came home for dinner.
Nice and simple. No drama.
Nice job on your sobriety. Keep it up. I’m a few days from 2 years. Time flies.
Great news about the good sober day @SoberMomma93
I am consistent. Gym. Nap. Time with family. Aa meeting. Homecooked meal. Peace
A year, thats great! When you hit that one year mark you’re going to be so proud ![]()
That sounds like a really good day! I haven’t tried AA yet because it sounds really intimidating. I found some online but don’t even know where to begin with it.
I started online. You can join with your camera off and just listen. The rooms of aa are so welcome and if one meeting doesnt feel like home…keep looking. I prefer all ladies meetings as shit gets real. I do hope you try even if youre curious. This community a gratitude practice and alcoholics anonymous has helped me live my best life yet! Keep trying. Get curious ![]()
My first day of the year was a lazy one beside the must-dos ![]()
Good food, nice concert on TV, naps, petcuddles, calls with chosen family.
I did see an all women’s group and thought that was going to be the one I was going to chose lol
Happy new year for you too! ![]()
Good to hear you had a easy day! The more sober time you have the more easy days you will have. My first of january? I did a walk in nature to say hi to “my” tree and visited my cousin in the hospital afterwards. It was a good sober day ![]()
The dinner I cooked my family went down so well… it was a lovely day and evening.
Happy new year to you too. Love a bit of self care, gives you a little lift
my first day of the year was spent at my mums with family, was lovely seeing them all, then a chilled evening!
Happy New Year

Great to see you posting. Awesome work on your sobriety journey…keep up the great work. Love the self-care ![]()
Had a chill no frills start to the new year. It was a lovely day ![]()
I had quite a good one looking back. It was fucking fucking cold but when the sun came out over the hills and trees it was wonderful.
Around these days I am sometimes thinking back of the ‘good old times’. It’s not white, it’s not all black and when I think back of new year’s eves I celebrated with friends or at parties I cannot remember one single one where I didn’t have too much. Where I didn’t pass out somehow, somewhere, didn’t make it until midnight because I was too drunk or I didn’t remember. This has been long long time ago now and the memories get flurry. But there are no memories left of how much fun it was. They got erased.
A nature walk sounds nice! I like going to our local bird refuge because they have great walking trails. Hopefully your cousin is okay in the hospital!
I’ve always been a homebody so I never have been to a New Years Eve party but I can say I have had my fair share of drinking too much at home celebrating with my non drinking husband. He’s enjoying me being more present and not so damn spacey repeating myself over and over while stumbling around like a toddler. It’s great that you reflect on the “good ol days” to remember why you’re sober and finding yourself today ![]()
He’s doing ok under the circumstances. He has 7 broken ribs an a collapsed lung. He get’s loads of painkillers but could make some jokes already ![]()
Yes, walks in nature are important in my recovery. And when I walked my short route of 5 km I always photograph the same tree.
It’s fun to collect them and see the seasons goes by. Have a nice day ![]()
I love your tree! I used to have a favorite tree in my hometown I visited as well lol. I hope you have a good day too
