It is 11:45pm, I am sober, the room is filled with drunk friends, and I am just past my 7 day mark

It’s 11:05pm here… so far so good. Sober and watching murder mystery shows. I flaked on a party because I didn’t want to be around drunk people. Congrats on staying strong and sober!

2:12am here and completely sober. The second year down and I’ll be honest when I say it doesn’t get easier but it’s worth it, even if I don’t realize it now, I know it is.

It’s 9.24am on 1st Jan 2017, I didn’t drink, didn’t smoke weed or cigarettes! I feel great!!! It was my fist sober NYE in around 20 years

I worked again this year. Pouring drinks for those celebrating. When some of my superiors asked if I wanted a glass of champagne to toast, I politely declined. Been at this place almost 9 years, and never had been asked this question. In fact drinking on the job for most of us is grounds for automatic termination, so most would jump at the chance to have a drink with the bosses, while on the clock. Stopped at my usual spot on my way home where I usually buy alcohol, but bought iced tea instead.

Sober! I felt a bit lost but did not give in. Woke up this morning fress and awake. Cleaned up the christmas stuf and listened to U2 New Years Day max volume (like every year) !

No issues here. Got back yesterday from my hunting trip. Was in bed by 10pm.
I’m 38, new years lost its luster for me a long time ago. I did usually drink on new years either in my full blown alcoholic phase or even when I just abused it.

Great night! No sneak drinking! So happy not to feel depressed and guilty this morning. Colored with the kids last night and drank sparkling grape juice. @NatalieE can’t wait to take a walk in the rain too💜

Went out but didnt drink even after being ask if I wanted to several times. Rocked it. that waa my 62nd day.
Love this feeling of being fresh and starting 2017 with enthusiam and life instead of a hangover.

Went over a friends house as they were having a party. Took some non alcoholic beer and really enjoyed myself. Most people were pretty drunk by the end of it and I must admit I was getting a little bit tired of the repetitive drunk conversations. Drove home with my hubby and kids at 11:30 using the excuse of looking after the dogs when the fireworks went off. So glad to be starting the new year sober

I was at home , tv and Coca cola i knew it would be a good and Great Day:) i love the fact that we all are trying our best and thats just so inspirering thank u guys for be in here at this forum. The force is all around us if we are willing enough to belive . Its something bigger than me . And @NatalieE you are welcome. U did this by your self i love to see so many of us made this day trough .but then again it remind me life is a test of willing to choose whats right there and then . i baretneded last night. I am so relievd last night was the first time i saw drunk people and was happy that i was not with them! there were huge fights and obnoxious behavior at the end of the night, it made me so satisfied to go home sober and say happy new year to my husband. great job everyone we did it!!!

Made it again this New Years for my second one in a row. I kicked and screamed and slept until 2pm but my body needed it after the stress of last night and remaining sober even while home watching tv. Just knowing the world is completely hammered is enough to sometimes set me off. We made it through the holidays guys!!!
