What’s helping me to stay sober is a 12 step program and this forum. But that didn’t help until I was truly done and made a commitment to sobriety. I became willing to do anything to get and stay sober.

I don’t know if I’m committed to stopping as yet. I just relapsed again today for the fourth time this month.
I had many failed attempts, many day 1’s. My thinking had to shift, sobriety had to come before everything else.
You realizing you have a problem is step 1. It’s gonna take a real want, you gotta want it more than anything. Keep trying, you’ll get there. Maybe you’re there now

Dont try to do it alone, surround yourself with a community of helpers, sponsors, therapist if need be. Keep a journal and track your behavior. Research who’s had your struggle and start compiling a list of tips and counters. Be ready to share, pivot, and overall FIGHT!

You may not be ready now, but if you stick around and read, at least the seed will be planted and watered a little bit at a time. Also make a list of the negative effects on continued use and then a list of positive effects sobriety will have on your life.

Sobriety needs to be front and center of mind, all the time, no exceptions. Use whatever it takes: 15 minute alarms on your phone, post-it notes all over your room, meditation or chanting etc.
After a while, things will become second nature a bit more and you can maybe loosen the reigns a bit but for now, your only priority is to be and stay sober.
