Assuming your DOC is alcohol, day 3 to 5 is usually the peak, then it gets gradually better. It sucks, but it will be over soon and you won’t have to go this again.

How long have you been sober? For me I felt bad for 4 days. Some have gone longer than a week…up to 2 weeks.

I can’t promise when it starts to feel better but I can promise that it WILL feel better.

Hi @Denise78 withdrawal is crap but it gets better I promise you. Try and keep busy…watch TV…play computer games…read … anything to pass the time…I had a fan next to my bed when I felt too hot… drink loads of water and try and eat…all I could eat was cereal but it helped…hang in there.

Keep checking in! My sweating, after I was still a daily drinker, stopped on Day 5. I was sleepless through Day 21 - but you only have to worry about today. Get through those symptoms today.

If you aren’t already, stay well-hydrated, take a Vitamin B complex. Magnesium, Glutathione, and melatonin are also flushed with alcohol consumption, so look into some supplements to counteract those losses.

One thing that helped me was writing in a journal how I felt and what I was thinking every hour each day because we tend to forget what it was like. It has been etched in my mind, I never want to go through that again.

I just went through detox a couple weeks ago, and I documented the first 5 days on video. Everyone’s situation is different. But maybe it can help you. I’ve had other people tell me it helped them.

It WILL eventually pass. I can promise you that. Hang in there.

I used melatonin a lot in the beginning to help with the sleep, and I did gentle exercises and ate really well. I also took vitamins and electrolytes

When did you physically stop drinking? If you area very heavy drinker, going into withdrawal can be very dangerous. Please make sure someone knows what is going on in case you need to get to a hospital. DT’s are not something you mess with.
