I’ll start, and yes, I used a calculator to try to get rough idea by adding up, approximate days and amounts… On the LOW END… DRUM ROLL…
$286,590…
Money comes n goes.
My addiction bankrupt me morally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. That was the true cost.
Wowzers Bowser, das a lot! I’d have to say a few thousand, but the money doesn’t compare to the time, wellness, and opportunities lost.
Yea I know, just trying to use this as one way to motivate me to stay clean. Might not be the most important, but still, it’s something:rofl:
I’m sure the extra money does help though!
Indeed it does, that’s more than all the money I’ve ever had haha! I can confirm that having money beyond the point you’d normally waste it, then seeing it accumulate while remaining sober, is in the top 5 greatest feelings of sobriety.
FUCK YEA! Get that money!!!
Hey I’m trying haha, but more importantly for you… KEEP THAT MONEY!!!
First day back to sobriety, and can’t WAIT for all that loot!!!
Day 1, and don’t forget, take things 1 day at a time! I’m rootin’ for you!
It sorta varied. Some days I’d go cheap, others buy a $60 bottle of tequila. Then getting drinks at restaurants.
Alcohol only, maybe $90,000+. That’s not counting 15 years of cigarettes.
That’s crazy to think about.
Right?!? That’s the point… So much money gone!
TY SIR! This is my time!
Yeah, you don’t think about it in the moment. You’re like, that bottle of wine’s only $9. It’s a discount compared to the $20 bottle.
Zero…I didn’t lose…money spent was the cost of my education…I apply lessons learned daily…I consider it money well spent, as I love who I am…
Be well on your journey peeps
I did some math and over 20 years its about $180k just on alcohol
Can’t argue with that
I feel it! Damn!
Thats a lot of money lost, but definitly a good motivator in staying clean and sober. I can relate to the high amount and it actually depresses me lol According to my savings, i have saved $28000 in 474 days (how long ive been clean) and i have used for 22 years… so thats alot of money lost. Mind u it is an estimate. I think the biggest loss tho for me is the loss of time and how addiction causes bankruptcy in all forms (as already mentioned).
Yea, it’s 12 yrs of use… Such an opportunity I’ve lost out on…
