How to overcome the loneliness

Congratulations on one month 3 days sober.
I’m not sure where you are or what you enjoy but I found meetup.com a good place to meet new people. I went bike riding with a group of ladies. Not a lot of talking but a lot of fun. I wasn’t very good at speaking to stranger in early sobriety or anyone for that matter.
Keep working on yourself. A great social life will come.

Talked with my therapist today about being alone and feelings of loneliness. He asked me this morning “Why is it bad to feel lonely?”… :exploding_head: Because it doesn’t feel pleasant, that’s why! lol

Currently feeling alone in an empty home and lonely like you. Most important thing is we do it while sober, because that’s where the real self discovery is.

I have looked into a few people for sponsorship. One lady declined she doesn’t want to be a sponsor to anyone and another lady lives a few towns away and I haven’t seen her in almost two weeks. Not many women attend AA in my area

It’s only a suggestion that you have a female sponsor… If you are in an area with less women you can find a male but make sure it’s someone who you arent attracted to and you have boundaries set. Old-timers are the safest bet.!
