Try a detox facility nearby
Glad you are here Vanessa! Talking Sober is a great place to find support and resources concerning addiction and getting sober!
Depending on how much alcohol you consume on a daily basis, going “cold turkey” could be dangerous. I suggest contacting a doctor or medical professional for a consultation about whether or not you’d need a detox facility, like @JVKE mentioned. I know it can be difficult, but being honest with them about how much you drink is crucial for them to be able to give you an appropriate and accurate answer.
There are many ways to approach getting sober. For me the combination of these were the most helpful: CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) which can help identify triggers and help build skills to help cope with life without alcohol; community support of one kind or another, like AA, Smart Recovery, Recovery Dharma or group therapy; contacting a medical professional in order to be prescribed a medication that will help reduce cravings.
I also found sober tools like 4-7-8 breathing techniques and acronyms like HALT (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired) to be incredibly helpful in moments of intense cravings/urges to drink. I’ve included links to websites that dive a little deeper into both of these tools!

As someone who struggled with drinking too much at the same age, I understand how difficult just the idea of quitting can be. But you being here really shows how much you want change. The willingness to ask for help is a great start, now you need to act. Contact a medical professional and go from there!
I’m very glad you are reaching out for help. Please don’t hesitate to ask for more! There are plenty of people here who have a lot of experience with similar problems you are struggling with. You are not alone! ![]()
