I noticed the past couple of days, salty food has been too much for me, whereas usually I’m a huge Salt freak. I’m talking about junk food, I had popcorn at the movies yesterday and I just ate some chips and both tasted way too salty.
Could this be anything to do with not drinking? Has anyone else had this? I’ve got a cold it could just be that.
@alexmel I don’t use salt like I used too anymore but sugar is my down fall I crave it every minute for my rush but I crash just if I got high. But I think our taste buds change. Be strong
True! I’ve been wanting chocolate at night which I never would have if I had wine.
There’s some interesting brain search regarding food choices/cravings while drunk or high. No just like munchies. Drunk food is almost universally salty and greasy!
I think when you quit drinking your body has to adjust to not having alcohol and starts craving other stuff, alcohol saps allsorts of out of us. When I topped drinking sugar was the main thing I craved but I think it’s different for all of us, i always used to put alot of salt on my food but nowadays not so much. I also find i tend to go for healthier food options i.e fruit, vegetables and fresh foods because I prefer the tastes, must be my body telling me to be healthy!
Yay! Its interesting to see all the unexpected changes that are happening. I know that I wouldn’t have hangovers any more, but I’m so much calmer over all. My anxiety is definitely less and I’m enjoying life more. The sweats that I had for the first week tell me that even if I wasn’t exactly hungover, booze was in my system ALL the time. I’m looking forward to more knock-on effects!
