I am trying this new thing where every time i express negative energy i try to say something positive or try to find something to be gratful for. So. Today its this message from my best friend. Ive talked about her before. Weve had some points in our friendship where i didnt feel super valued. Weve made a lot of progress as individuals and as friends. But this message really made my day and meant a lot to me!

Its really helped me a lot with the concept of balance. Even if its something small when I’m really mad. Like the other day i was PISSED and went off about a bunch of stuff and still forced myself to find a positive. In that moment it was just simply “im gratful for my dog” lol
Sometimes its as simple as being grateful for my sobriety. Its really worked wonders.

Sometimes you just have to make the effort. Otherwise it is unlikely you will change and improve. I tend to complain! But ask me about things I’m grateful for and I can list 10 things instantly. So…need to shift the balance and focus on the good. And gratitude for 1,251 sober days tops the list!

Fantastic!!! A year is a long time. I rarely think about drinking anymore. I’m 64 and in good health. I do NOT need to set myself up to feel like

Although I don’t think much about alcohol, I also never let my guard down. I made that mistake after 18 years of sobriety. Hard lesson to learn. One thing that I’ve heard makes sense…it is easier to stay stopped than to try to stop again (or something like that). Have a sober Saturday! Your day, September 1st, is right around the corner!!
