Hello! So I’m very very new here. 1 day sober to be exact, but i figured something like this app will really help me stay this way. I am Kara and i was drinking about 8-9 beers or white claws every night, sometimes more and almost never less. I’m 24 and I’ve been drinking like this for atleast 2 years now, probably more. I’m just tired of waking up with a migraine, nausea, but the hanxiety is the absolute worst for me. Mornings used to be my favorite time of the day and i miss them. Anyways, thanks for reading and I’ll be active in here more if anyone wants to chat!! ![]()
What a wonderful day for day 1. Im glad you found us. The tip i have for early sobriety is distraction: walking, tv, sleep, coffee dates, paint by number, aa meetings. Dont put yourself in tough, tempting situations for the 1st month at least. This may require cancelling some plans. Identify your support system and healthier ways to cope when cravings do come.
I found this app on day 7 of my journey…
Take your time and use search feature for topics… relevant info, even if not recent is still valuable…I use this app and with conscious life change have made a pretty good go of being sober.
Everyone’s journey is different, some things work for some and not others.
Like AA, not for me, but sooooo many people have found sober success in that space.
Occupying time with new interests seems to be a common thread, taking up casual interest studies, nature, running…all kinds of threads to read and participate in.
Welcome, be well
Welcome to the community! I completely understand about being sick and tired of being sick and tired. We are here for you! And a great day to be sober! Go you!!!
Welcome! I hope you are comfortable to share your journey with us, we love recovery and want to see you succeed. keep us updated on how you’re doing!
if you can make it 1 day then you can make it 2, stay focused on today, not yesterday and not tomorrow. Just today, don’t drink. deal with tomorrow when it’s today. if at first you don’t succeed, keep trying, don’t give up. you might be like most of us and have lots of day 1’s but that’s okay. hope for the best but remember you aren’t perfect and be loving toward yourself, okay?
here you are not judged
Welcome! And mornings will come back to be as nice as they used to be. I’m also new here, 11 days sober and I can totally relate with waste of energy that drinking causes. I find this community very good! Keep checking in every day, sharing your thoughts and achievements and inspire many of us ![]()
