I need some better goals to set

Day 128AF
I’ve to leave in 4hrs for work but can’t sleep.
I keep having thoughts about goals I want to set, but they’re all unrealistic goals. Once I noticed this I started thinking about why I put so much pressure on myself and set these high goals. I guess it’s related to my self-worth and self image. I also just don’t know what I want to do in life, do I want to become rich or live for charity. Do I want to become the fittest person in the room or the smartest. (Yes very extreme and black or white). I’d tell another to find out what makes them happy and pursuit whatever that is, but I don’t know what makes me happy. I know cheap thrills don’t. Yet I lived behind a screen for half my life so don’t know any better. I need a better self image but setting unrealistic goals don’t do me any favor at all. I’m young and it’s okay that I don’t have everything figured out yet but I don’t know what to live for. How else am I going to keep working/working out and study. I just feel miserable right now, it’s like I need to pick who I want to be and just stick to that. I recently started as a donor for plasma and donating small amounts of money, I figure that I’d atleast help someone if I can’t help myself.

When I was a supervisor in retail my manager would have me list goals for the department using the 30/60/90 system. I find it works well for small goals.

For instance:

30 days- read two self help books, learn a new recipe and go through my room getting rid of clutter.

60 days- clean up all my flower beds and add $100 to my savings.

90 days- take a weekend away for me time and donate time working at a charity.

Work on building small goals until you feel comfortable than work up to a year, five years and ten.

Oh what a marvelous article!

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive, then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

How that resonated! Thank you for sharing!
