I’ve been sober for a month now

I’ve been sober for a month now, my cravings for alcohol aren’t as bad now, I’m just bored a lot, my side hurts so I’m mostly in bed getting some rest, I can’t do a lot of physical activity, because I just start to get tired and nauseous, so I stay in bed, I try to play my Xbox, but it’s so boring lol.

I talked to a friend who is 2 years sober and he said “oh yeah I’m bored all the time” and I also know it’s peaceful as well, but I’m used to the chaos.

Welcome to TS!
Sobriety gives the opportunity to do whatever we want.
Get into things you like, explore new hobbies, engage where you are interested, find out what you want to spend your time on.
I don’t remember being bored for decades. Too many interests, too little time.

There are meetings you can go to meet new like minded friends , your friend maybe could go with you or go for walks with you find new hobbies when your bored it allows your brain to recharge and then you can plan things to keep you busy wish you well

@Alex876 I am learning to be bored too. It’s worse to be in the midst of the hell of addiction

Welcome to the forum!! Congratulations on ur month of sobriety!

I was this way too. Chaos was all i knew in the problem and then when coming into recovery, removing the drugs amd alcohol, the people, and the lifestyle, i felt “bored” initally bcuz i didnt know what to do with my time. The chaos had been removed. BUT… now? Im sooo grateful that my life isnt chaotic anymore. I crave the peace and Im no longer bored bcuz my life is filled with many other healthier things. Have u thought of maybe filling ur time wirh recovery related material? Like online meetings that u can attend from in ur bed? Or maybe reading recovery books? Or journalling? Or doing other hobbies that u can physically do? Maybe experimenting with other activities that uv always wanted to do but couldn’t, due to ur addiction? Recovery can be very fulfilling if we make it  Glad ur here. Hope that u find this forum helpful!

No I find some of those people to be very judgmental, it’s not all the time, but that’s why I do my therapy sessions, and I do online support groups

what people?

How many meetings did you try?

tell me if this makes sense: you are trying not to drink. there is a fellowship of people who get together and support one-another and try not to drink as a group. but you don’t want to attend the meetings of people who support your effort to not drink?

don’t you think we could try again or try another meeting?
