I went back out and now I'm dry

I got tired of the vodka, mostly how it was draining my wallet but just feeling like shit in the AM. I woke up Dec 7th and just put it behind me. ODAAT, I’ve had a few cravings but I keep telling myself , why not? Also, my Aunt is dying of delerium. She was a hard drinker and hearing her cry and wail on the phone to my mom was a little too much for me. My wife is being super supportive which is really nice and that’s another thing, I don’t want to disappoint her. I originally got sober w/ AA right before COVID and thankfully so. Long story short, I lasted a little over 2 years then relapsed because I couldn’t emotionally handle my marriges roadblocks. I’m 55, I live in the PNW near Portland.

Welcome Ed
Glad you made it back.
Glad you found us.
This is a great place to get and give support. You know how it’s done. You got to keep working that sobriety. Hit up some meetings.
Being active on here and going to AA meetings keeps me sober. You can too.

Welcome back to sobriety Edo, I am sending huge bear hugs to you. It’s very stressful for a person to care for their relatives and seeing them change literally right before your eyes!! It’s more stressful when you can’t do anything for them but be there for them and care for them. This site and these wonderful people are now here for You!! I commend you for reaching out in your time of need. I am thankful that you have a supportive wife, that in itself is a great help!! Its great that you didn’t want to disappoint your wife, your honoring her by fighting for your sobriety, but I feel that the only person that you would disappoint is yourself. I also live in the Pacific NW, I am 63 years young and love the fact that I live between 2 mountains, drive an hour West and I am in the city, drive 2 and a half hours and I am at the coast, and I live between families in Washington and Oregon!! Is there any chance of a nurse coming in for a few hours once or twice a week to give you a break? I never have but my daughter has done A.A meetings online…I think it’s zoom or face it or something like that   I am sending prayers for strength and blessings hun:pray::dash::feather: Remember we’re all here for you
