“…If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
I enjoyed reading this. I think your honesty is inspiring. I have come to believe that everybody, everywhere is slightly mad, however since becoming sober I feel saner than I have done for a long time.
Thank you for posting, Alice is a favourite in our house!
Thank you for taking the time to read! I imagine I will feel completely different in another 3 weeks hehe
Oh @Naturehippy you have no idea how much you will grow and change if you keep doing what you’re doing now That was beautifully written.
I LOVE Jefferson Airplane! But that’s not the point. The point is CONGRATULATIONS!!! It sounds like you are finally tapping in to that inner strength. You are awesome. Keep building those skills. You deserve to be happy and OWN your power. You got this!
Lol, good music is always the point lol.
Thank you so much! Sobriety is a trip for sure… but not the kind where I’m constantly falling on my face, so thats a bonus lol.
Thanks! Maybe I’ll be a unicorn by 35 and an alicorn by 36… who knows, imagination is my only limit.
Congratulations @Naturehippy your words are a pleasure to read and incredibly inspirational as always. Keep doing whatever it is your doing (being a fking unicorn i guess) and keep the sober streak going
hahahaha thank you my friend! I’m FINALLY getting the hang of being in charge of my own reigns. Its a nice (and scary) feeling.
Congratulations on your latest milestone! That was great to read.
Thank YOU for being a part of this forum and sharing a taste of the island life
I’m really happy that I get to travel on this journey with you and I love me some Alice in Wonderland! I’m not sure what changed for you, but I’m so happy that you feel like the fog is lifting. Sobriety is uncomfortable af! Sometimes it’s easier to stay stagnant, because that’s what we know and are comfy with. I don’t want to hang out with family, or go to events or deal with tough work-related meetings sober! That’s hard!
But sobriety is so SO worth it. Life is so much more rewarding when I can remember what the hell I did/said last night. Good lord I don’t miss those days.
Lmao “being a fking unicorn i guess.” I’m dying.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here, I enjoyed reading it. Especially now since my recent relapse. It is a learning experience.
Wonderful and inspiring post @Naturehippy - keep on doing what you’re doing , and be the shiniest f*cking unicorn in the room
