i am so beyond heart broken and angry. IDK how my boyfriend is doing. We both went in on ther 25th to get help. I am losing my mind. They have star ted to withhold all like medications. I need help getting out of here!!!
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I understand how distressing the situation is, especially not knowing how your boyfriend is doing. You both went to get help, and it’s concerning that your medications are being withheld.
Can you please explain what is happening and what the next steps are?
An adult cannot be held against their will without a court order. You have rights! I suggest you have a plan in place for an outpatient program before you leave though. Putting down the alcohol is the easy part. Staying stopped is where all the hard work comes in on a daily basis.
Sounds you are at a place to get help and obviously need further help. Calm down and tell what the problem is. After sobering up the recovery work starts. Focus on yourself, your boyfriend has to do the same. It takes time to heal.

I totally agree. I am going through some health problems that are super scary, i wish he could be here. But i know he has to work on h imself. Also, i don’t have any clothes, any hygiene stuff of my own….. i just feel so empty. So lost.
That’s normal, you go through a lot as your body and brain first detox and then start healing.
Can you ask somebody to bring you your personal stuff? Or buy some hygiene products you like on-site? Talk about it with your treatment staff, you are for sure not the first one who checked in without a packed bag for the stay.
You focus on yourself now, the comfort you are longing for can not be found in a boyfriend, it can be found within yourself. You checked in, you detox, you get help with your health issues.
Breathe, meditate, journal and sleep as much as possible. Take it one day at a time, from minute to minute. You are not alone ![]()
i would like to suggest to change the title of the thread. like jboom’s journey to recovery
you get help where you are. do you want to leave the institution before treatment is finished?
just an idea, feel free to ignore it ![]()
