Local churches, soup kitchens. Google free food near me.
Payday loans are hard to find anymore due to usery laws and generally have ridiculously high interest rates

Does your community have a Facebook page? I joined a few in my area and people post often about places to get food. Some are even private homes that have outside refrigerators stocked by neighbors. Also some local restaurants give free food. Then there’s another group that makes homemade lasagnas. People are so kind and want to help.

Buy Nothing on Facebook or Nextdoor might be sites to try.
The community college where I live also has a food pantry for anyone in the community.
I’m not sure where you live, but lots of good options above.
There are a lot of other apps like TO GOOD TO WASTE and OLIO in the UK. Community based apps that offer free leftovers or things not wanted.
I hope you find a solution. 
I would look into food banks. Depending where you are there are different organisation that would help you, no questions asked. Easier said than done, I know, but I would stay away from payday loans. Those are borderline predatory loans with yearly interest rate more than 300%. And the smaller your borrow, the higher the effective rate is due to fixed costs. Payday loans are in effect ruining your future self big time for a temporary relief. But again, easier said than done.
