Wnna know their journey of recovery or if you’re struggling rn
you can search for keywords using the magnifying glass. lots of different addictions here and every kind of drugs. alvohol also is a drug, like nicotine. those are legal in most countries, that’s the only difference.
Welcome!
I was an opioid and cocaine addict in addition to a daily drinker. Kicking the opioids was by far the hardest. The withdrawals were the worst but I stuck with it knowing I never had to feel that bad ever again.
My journey consisted of outpatient detox followed by an intensive outpatient program then onto AA (NA is not easily accessible in my area). I’m coming up on 5 years and I can honestly say I haven’t struggled in years but that’s because I work my program daily. I can’t afford to get complacent. My life depends on it.
There are many people here with a range of addictions and I can relate to every single one of them by looking for similarities rather than differences.
Wishing you the best on your journey.
Welcome
A lot of us quitted our doc and replaced it with alcohol, and then eventually had to quit alcohol to.
Best of luck to you.
My D.O.C. was More. More of anything & everything, simultaneously (if possible).
For me, though, once I went that heroin route. . .it certainly became the main focus. For decades.
Until fentanyl pushed it outta the city. Then, I had to switch to that.
And I am ever grateful because it’s a totally different monster and I was finally given that Gift of Desperation.
Fentanyl and meth addict here buddy. You’re not alone. I was doing pain pills for about 6-7 years of my life before i was introduced to the dirty 30s. Soon after came the needle and some ice mixed with fetty for about 1.5-2 years. Im at 1 year and 4.5 months clean today. This is my longest stretch. Before i was on and off with being sober for about 2 months then relapsing, being in and out of rehabs and jail. I would like to say i dont think about getting high after almost 1.5 years clean but there are times when the feeling to do so is overwhelming. I can however say that today i am able to shake those feelings by playing the tape out and realizing giving into those tempations is only going to ruin everything ive built for myself in my recovery. Hope everyone is doing well and staying strong💪
