Hi team I’m day 2 today iv always been a drinker but I’m finally sick and tiered off all the dumb decisions I make when I’m drinking. 2 nights ago I went out and decided I’d have a few drinks with my girlfriend. This lead me heading off to a friends house black out drunk. Making a fool of myself and falling a sleep in their couch not returning home to my amazing husband. Of course I had a terrible hangover yesterday and had the guilts all day I still have them a little bit today. It’s time for me to stop I’m about to have an amazing career change and going and making a fool of myself isn’t in the plan. I’m just focusing on today but I’m really excited to be part of this community. I have periods of sobriety prior and I love the sober me so much more than the drunk version.
@Justine40 Im glad you are here! Welcome to an awesome community who offers support and guidance when asked. Take a look around
Sober you will always be the best version of you.
You can do it. Go to some meetings. (In person or zoom…tons on zoom!!)
You got this. One day at a time.
Prayers to you.
Admitting you have a problem with drinking is step 1 and you just made that one congratulations! Life will be so much better sober but you have to go trough the hard part first.
For me I found the first weeks physically the hardest and after that mostly mentally. After 3 months it went a bit easier. But it’s different for everyone. My story isn’t your story
But it’s deffinitely worth it. I like my sober life so much better then the old one.
See you around, it helps to be here much
And welcome ofcourse
Thank you I’m excited for the journey
Justine40 welcome and glad you recognize it and ready to fight for a new way of living n life. So glad you are here and wish you the best on your journey.#wedorecover
