It’s been quite a ride. In that time, I’ve learned to cope with life, and live life on life’s terms. I’ve learned to deal with bad days, like the day my Mom passed away, as well as the good days, like the day my daughter was born.
Like with any change, it hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.
For anyone new at it, keep going, take it one day at a time; It adds up. Also learn. Everyday is a learning opportunity. The more you learn, the more tools you have, the more tools you have, the stronger you become.
The funny thing is, when I started this journey, I never thought I would be here, nor did I plan on it, but the community here gave me everything I needed to be successful. I am grateful for that.
Thanks for posting and congratulations on your sobriety time. That’s really awesome. I appreciate the advice as well. Every day is a learning opportunity… I like that. I guess life is going to happen sometimes good or bad but we don’t have to drink or drug over it.
Fantastic! Congratulations on 6 years!!
Life sure gets lifey at times but all those tools we acquire helps get us through.
I celebrated 5 years yesterday. Keep paving the way my friend.
Huge congrats Dan. Thanks for being part of this. Not a small part either. Excellent work. I hope you got to celebrate a bit today for it is well earned.
Yehaw! That’s some accomplishment!! Thank you for sharing your journey and being such a constant presence, support and encouragement! Huge congratulations!
Ohhhh Huge Congrats to you!
I can’t tell you how much your presence here has meant to me, how many of your posts I’ve bookmarked for their down-to-earth-y stay on the path-ness. For your openness and sharing the real stuff, and showing us that life isn’t always easy, but is so much more doable when sober…
…lest this get too sentimental? your wit and goofiness add some much appreciated levity to this journey…
