Jasty's 1st Birthday

This time last year I woke up extremely hungover and starting to detox, for what God willing will hopefully be the last time ever. About 9 months prior, I ended up in a rehab center, watched my wife walk out crying, went to my room and passed out. Before the next morning hit, I was standing out in the parking lot in the rain, holding a clear trash bag of my belongings and waiting for her to pick me up. Even though I wanted sobriety, I know now I just wasn’t ready to do what I needed to to get it. I promised her I was gonna try again to beat this on my own ( Guess what, it doesn’t work) I was drinking again before the next day ended.

I spent the next 8 months continually stepping into the ring with alcohol, and continuing to get my ass kicked up and down the street until I was finally just so beaten down physically, emotionally and spiritually that I just gave in and finally surrendered to whatever the hell God might be out there. I had know idea, what it was, but I was sure I wasn’t it. :rofl:.

In September I went to outpatient rehab after work. Went to therapy, went to AA and spent some time on here. Anybody new to sobriety, I can promise you if you’re willing to do whatever you have to, and put sobriety above everything else, it will get easier and you will get sober.

I wanna thank all of yous for your support and reminding me to never Quit Quitting.
I couldn’t possibly thank everyone individually but yous all had a part in getting me sober.
@Nordique , Lisa07 @SassyRocks , Mno @Dazercat , RosaCanDo Thanks for being some of the first people to welcome me to the community.

To my sister’s in sobriety @Faugxh JazzyS Cjp Juli1 TrustyBird @Sarahyab, Runningfree Mischa84 tragicarralini you guys are awesome :wink:

@Dan531 , HoofHearted @TMAC Steve14 jbaldwin84 , CatManCam

@Englishd , Ray_M_C_Laren , AyBee I appreciate your no bullshit, sometimes hard to hear advice. You don’t sugarcoat sobriety and that’s what people like myself need to hear sometimes.

@Zse Blagodariya priyatelka, for everything. You’re right behind me.
And for everyone that I’m just meeting or forgot,
Thanks love ya’s :v::green_heart:

My 11 month chip from very early the other morning. I’ll get my 12th today.

This made me so happy. Crazy you’ve been sober 1 year less than me and yet you’ve been like a mentor to me. Thank you for your wisdom. Your kindness. For always offering an ear. Thank you for choosing sobriety. I’m so glad you are here homie!! Be proud!! Hell yeah :heart:

You got me in tears Joe.
What a great share.
I visually pictured you in the ring, like in Big Time Wrestling, just getting hammered by 4 or 5 of the Heels. And You Are One Of The Good Guys! Ya You Are :heart: So happy you could surrender and crawl out of that ring and get help.
Congratulations again. On that 1 year of freedom.
