Welcome to the forum.

Its been my experience that I have to go 100% without in order to recover. Abstinence from all mind and mood altering substances. Soft drugs, hard drugs, booze… i cant have any of it. One is just a gateway to the other in my life.
I also needed to surround myself with other addicts who were looking to find a new way to live without drugs. I tried so many times on my own, and I just couldnt do it.

Sending strength to you. You know, you deserve a life without being chained to a substance. You can get off that dark merry-go- round. The first step is to just not pick up dope.

Welcome Sajjad!
I became a daily cocaine user and it almost destroyed my life. Thankfully I sought help before losing everything (job, family, home, etc). It’s been 5 years and my sober time app says I saved $115,000 in that time from not using. That’s a crazy amount of money I was spending.

I found that help in Alcoholics Anonymous. I could have benefited from Narcotics Anonymous but there aren’t many meeting options in my area. But the AA fellowship opened their arms to me. That program was a life changer.

My advice is complete abstinence from all substances, and make sobriety your number 1 priority.

Welcome Sajjad! Lots of good advice above; I don’t have any specific cocaine sobriety advice but I can say I haven’t ever regretted getting sober (whereas I have regretted everything I did in my addiction).

You’re in a great community here on Talking Sober and I’m sure you’ll find lots of help here. Have a read around on the threads and you’ll see there’s lots to learn :innocent:

I hope to be successful and didn’t restart my sobering plan…

You’re here with us Sajjad. You’re not alone. And congrats on reaching your second day. If you can do one day, you can do two. When you can do two, you can do three… Life’s so much better without booze or drugs friend. Keep going!

You also made me think of a line from a song. “I drink because I’m Lonesome and I’m Lonesome cause I drink” So true. Goes for all substances. We’re in this together. One day at a time.

Welcome!! And congratulations! Cocaine is my DOC as well. I have a position where I have to really hide and stuff it down, using the sinus and sickness card a lot. I also put myself in some debt and my credit score has dropped 100 points in under a year from it. This morning, I have 7 days. I got the Narcotics Anonymous Step Working guidebook, downloaded a free recovery book on my books app on iPhone, cut out any music and my paraphernalia and removed any and everything that reminded me of getting high from my house. Getting a sponsor will help you a lot and since you’re already a mentor, you know the importance of a mentorship position in your life. If you can’t go to a physical meeting there are virtual NA meetings literally every 15 minutes each day. I wish you the best of luck, my friend.
