Today was my first full day out of rehab. I went to detox, 17 times in the last cpl years, and this is the first time I stayed. I went to a 28 day detox, then to a PHP program. We had a lot of freedom in the latter, and very little guidance. Luckily for me, I knew I needed to advocate for myself. I had an amazing counselor and I got very close to my case manager. They helped me through a lot: helped me see things that I might not have noticed on my own. I thought I just had a drug problem.
I’m doing great so far! I’m genuinely happy, well-connected to my sober support, and getting in the groove of things.
The opposite of addiction is connection, so…here I am!
