Keep it simple. Keep it one day at time. Don’t worry about tomorrow or never drinking again. Just today, do what it takes to go to bed sober today. Then you will wake up hangover free and repeat! I wish you the best on your sober journey! You can do this one day at a time! You got this!!!

It amazes me what our poor little bodies endure for us isn’t it!? Mine has been trying to tell me to quit for so long… but I just keep going with the flow or actually taking it to the max! I am surrounded by drinkers so I can’t express how awesome the support here is. Thank you for your insights:) I am sooooo done with day 1’s!!!

Have you done any reading aka quit lit? As an over 50 woman, there were quite a few memoirs / books that really spoke to me and helped with all the questions in my head. This Naked Mind by Annie Grace, Quit Like A Woman by Holly Whitaker and We Are The Luckiest by Laura McKowen are 3 that really stuck with me.

I definitely read them over a few times. The Sober Lush was another one I read. I read a ton in my early sobriety.

In early days, I would focus on the other end of the day, and no further. From the time I woke up until I went to sleep, that’s how long I had to stay sober. And with journaling, commuting, work, meals, counseling and meetings, it really came down to just a couple of hours in the evenings when I would have a stretch of time with no planned activity. Doing that math made it very easy for me.

because im about to turn 45, and each time i relapse over the last 5 plus years on here, me like many others in our soberian family here, think that magical we will get zapped into a sober dimension permanently lol still waiting for that portal to the magical dimension to appear lol…
All that i know to be true is that a magial sober dimension does exsit, and its for today. If we can stay in our magical sober dimension for today, and keep that mentality every morning and again every evening, then girl you have unknowingly entered that portal permanently.
Does that make sense lol ??

YES… somehow it just gets simplified down into a “just for today” mindset and it seems to be working… Or at least it has for these whole whopping 5 days in a row I have! Slowly stringing days. I have had so many day 1’s!! Thank you for your sweet encouragements April! You made me smile:)

Loni 5 days is amazing in comparison to none, when the universe starts to show you its magic with little unexplainable synchronisatities that start to happen after a few weeks, you know the one i mean, like you think something then you see it on tv 5 seconds later in UNEXPLAINABLE DETAIL LOL. How the universe does s$%t like that will never not blow my mind lol… ok so a crazy one happened to me this afternoon, and if i wasnt 19 days sober/clean i would of never of experienced this unexplainable magic…
Ok so you know the “soccer mum camping chair” that folds up? So i have one i had permanently at my blocks corner dog park. It was just out of the way in a corner that i just left there coz id use it 3 times a day when id take luca for potty/zoomies etc… anyhoo about a month ago it disappeared… i assumed it was stolen or a complaining local threw it out lol… anyhoo so it was gone. I didnt think about after about a week it stopped crossing my mind… that was a month or so ago…UNTILL TODAY.
So this afternoon i was watching the " call her daddy " podcast on YouTube, the Chelsea handler interview from a month ago… the set they were doing the interview in was being relocated and they had no chairs… so they were both sitting on pink fold up soccer mum camping chairs …THE EXACT SAME CHAIR AS MINE. MY CHEAP $5 KMART CAMPING FOLD UP CHAIR… my brain clocked them and i was like uhhhh ha how funny… any hoo , i didnt think anything past that moment… till 15 minutes later i got up , PAUSED THE PODCAST, walked to the park on my block… something drove my eyes to turn and look in a big tall bush area on the side of the park, i cant explain the feeling other then i felt compelled to just look at this bush randomly while luca was running his zoomies… what do i see?? MY CAMPING FOLD UP CHAIR SHOVED DEEP IN THE BACK OF THE BUSH HIDDEN OUT OF SIGHT 
I pulled it out and was the WTFFFFF
The craziest synchronisaty thats happened in a while my mind was blown. The odds of that happening like that are unexplainable. The exact timing and exact detail is just to magical not be the universe doing its thing. And the time frame from me seeing the chairs on the podcast to me then 10 minutes, 15 max minutes later being compelled to look at a bush to find my chair that had disappeared about a month ago , to be there for me to find it in an unexplainable synchronised moment 
NO WORDS CAN EXPLAIN THIS LOL
So if i was drinking/using , that would not of happened…
So in saying that, your 5 days will soon turn magical and you will begin to experience synchronisation like you never have before like i just did…
So hold on, the magic is about to begin. Just never stop believing
