I was reading that this stuff helps with opiate withdrawal. Anyone have any experience regarding this? I guess it is sold over-the-counter. But it still is a drug right?
Hey @Bobbyw I can’t give you much information from experience but, I have seen others talk about this stuff (kratom) on here. Just type kratom into the search field and you’ll definitely get a lot of input. From what I gathered I would never personally want to ever try or use it
Thank you!
I tried to delete the post, but I’m not sure if I can
I would suggest staying away from it. It’s very physically addicting. I did it a few years ago and didn’t think it was that big of a deal I kept doing more and more every day. When I tried to stop I had the same withdrawals as prescription opiates / really any opiates… withdrawals is really bad restless arms and legs, digestive issues, extreme anxiety, not being able to sleep, feeling sick I literally almost lost my mind. I ended up going to a psychiatric place to get off of it because no medical detox beds were available at the time… If you want to get off opiates safely maybe consider a inpatient place To safely detox you. Don’t trade one drug for another. Just my opinion and experience. Kratom works on opiate receptors so it won’t end well…
I am going to reiterate what other have already eluded to: please discuss with your doctors what are safe and healthy options for you to help with sobriety. Your life literally depends on it!
Ive never tried it. But ive heard terrible things about it. We had a young police officer die overdosing on it here in my home town. Was a good friend of mine growing up.
