I used to make a “dip” of mayo and mustard, top with salt and pepper and dip my pickles into it.
Pickles were the only “free” food in my house. We were allowed to eat pickles but really nothing else without permission. As a latch-key kid, I never had permission. So, I ate A LOT of pickles. It’s a long time between school lunch hour and 6:30p dinner.

I made freezer pickles for years when I had a bigger garden and lots of cukes. So easy!

Reading all this gives me a sudden motivation to get some seeds, grow them and start pickling. I did that like ten years ago and it was great. Don’t know why i stopped.

Around 4:30 am here in Oz, and l couldn’t sleep so l started looking at my ‘pickle thread’ hoping l might get 
tired……
Nope! Now l’m hungry…and can’t sleep!
Thinking about a nice homemade potato salad the way Mum makes it. With little diced bits of pickled gherkins / cucumber in it to freshen the palate and add some crunch! Yum 
Does anyone else out there have pickle in their PS?
