Life isnt easy

im a just jump rite in. Im Santino G I’ve been an addict for 27 years. Weed, alcohol,MDMA,Coke, and my current drug of choice " jale “or crystal meth . You see addiction is not the problem. There is an underlying issue/trauma thats is the root cause . And many of us are pre-exposed so it becomes almost inevitable to one day end up lost on the wrong path .i lost my mom when I was only 5 years old ,within a year of her passing my father lost custody of me. Because of dope. Fast forward I grew up in the streets in the system. Drugs and alcohol were the only things that helped fill that empty void. I became just like my father selling and using. Hurting others and ultimately myself…I just didn’t gaf. about anything or anybody. Im now 40 years old with 2 children a wife and successful career as an aerospace painting technician but I’m struggling rn more than ever. Straight up im a functioning addict. I’ve been able to cut out my drinking and smoking weed almost entirely but there one gray cloud still hovering over me. Meth. However im currently in the process of rebuilding/recovering /and being reborn. You see I’m a man of faith I’m a man of God and I want anybody out there who needs to hear it you don’t have to get clean to come to Christ you can come to him as you are and he will cleanse you with his blood and his anointing. Jesus didn’t come back to save The Righteous he came back to save the broken and the fact that your an addict is actually a good thing. What I mean is everyday you devote yourself to this substance everyday you are dedicated to serve this thing even if it’s a thing of sin so what that goes to show is that you have the power to do the same but in a righteous way through the Holy Spirit if only you could just flip it around. And OG once told me” check this out little homie. I’d rather be sober and wish I was getting high, than being high and wishing I could be sober. So whatever you’re struggling with wherever you’re failing in life give it to Christ hand your battles to him and devote yourself to something better. I believe in you and Jesus believes in you too. Thank you for taking the time to read my messages I hope this reaches someone today who felt down on there luck cuz its never too late. Salvation is at hand and forgiveness is in reach. :folded_hands::hourglass_not_done::blue_heart::raising_hands:

Thank you for sharing your story. You’ve been through so much, and I really hope you find the peace and freedom you’re working toward. You’re still fighting and choosing to rebuild your life, says a lot about you. Keep going, one day at a time. You deserve a life free from addiction, and I’m rooting for you.

Dear Santino - well, what an inspirational story, and so glad you have found the support that has always been there in God. You are now aware that for years you’ve been a functional alcoholic, same here, but isn’t it better over on the other side, the clarity of thought, feeling generally healthier and happier. You’re a man of faith, so just keep praying about the meth addiction. I don’t know anything about drugs, but hear that’s a really hard drug to kick. You know about the support groups out there, so use them to help you get
clean. Your body is addicted to it, but your mind isn’t. Just like alcohol, brain tricks us into wanting to harm ourselves - why? Childhood trauma, unresolved issues? But you have your faith, so put it in HIs hands, and He will help you. Take care, my friend.
