So true. Sometimes I had no intention of drinking and that mysterious stop would happen. I told myself to avoid even looking at any liquor store while driving the first few months.
WowâŚthis brings such shame when I think about my routine. I work in IT so I work remote. Talk about easy peasy. Alone. Not accountable to anyone. Just had to make it through the work day âfunctionalâ. Breakfast was 3 shots of the goose at 7 and I was off for my day. Then thereafter it was a shot and a half on the hour every hour.
I picked the closest liquor store and frequented it every single day without fail. I knew everyone that worked there to the point they didnât even charge me tax, and at times I would even bargain for even a lower price which they did since I gave them so much business. A fifth a day. The only thing frustrating was when they ran out of my favorite vodka, like someone mentioned here, yea, that was because of me. Then I went to the other liquor store and cleaned them out too. There was a liquor store literally on every corner. Donât tell me âtheyâ, the âsystemâ, wants us to destroy ourselves.
Anyway, I am so glad that is not a part or thought of my life anymore! Iâve saved money, health, dignity, clarity and much more! Life is precious and a gift to embrace and to love and to make the most out ofâŚand that is exactly what I am doing!!
Same here, man. I would drive over to the nearest 711 right after work. And I would drive back for more after I was done. Until I found out I could get it delivered to my apartment. Smh. All bad!
Iâm glad Iâm done with all that.
San diego also
I was the same way
We all had our sneaky alcoholic ways
In my country all this kind of shops are dealt by Chinese people, so they are commonly know as âthe Chineseâ.
Going to these stores, going to the Chinese, was one of my dreadful patrons when I was drinking. I started drinking beer, then strong beer, then liquor of all types: whisky, sweet strong liquor, gin, etc.
I used also to buy whisky shots. Of course I have this stuff just I got through the door. Simply I receive this answer: âhow many?.Of course I have price.
In a first stage of drinking I tried not to repeat Chinese store, but then it did not matter. Just want alcohol, and so they know it, that fact was embarrassing.
Now when I pass (but I try to avoid) in front of these stores, they look at me. I say nothing, just go straight and try to not remember that past when I entered in them several times a day.
Kind regards.
